Three years ago, Hirestaff started in the living room of Jonny Peter’s North Shore home. It started from the idea of creating a labour hire business built on the foundations of exceptional service, something the industry wasn’t traditionally known for. With a background in plumbing and more recently recruitment, Jonny started supplying staff to businesses across Auckland and focused initially on the Trades & Construction sectors.
The business grew from strength to strength and shortly before its first year in business, moved into its own office space and hired the first employee. Three years on, Hirestaff is now one of Auckland’s leading suppliers of staff to businesses in the trades, construction, warehouse, logistics, manufacturing and civil sectors. The team has grown from only Jonny to 9 people in Hirestaff’s Penrose based head office, with plans to grow the headcount in 2022.

Businesses come to us looking for labour or staff for a few months but often when we find great talent they’re kept on a lot longer than the intial assignment. With a tight labour market, it’s important to retain good talent and we pride ourselves in providing this service to NZ businesses.
Celebrating in style
To celebrate 3 years in Business the team went on an all day fishing charter off the Whangaporoa coast. The day consisted of fishing, food and a few drinks and concluded with the full team catching their Snapper limit and even a few Kingfish and Kahawai as well.
